A site to remember Shane Lewis and advocate in his name for those battling Motor Neurone Disease
Although Shane is no longer with us, our advocacy journey certainly isn’t over. Through Shane’s battle with MND, our family experienced firsthand the many challenges, gaps and delays within the systems that people with terminal illnesses are forced to navigate. We continue to advocate for improvements across healthcare, aged care, disability support, regional services, funding access and end of life choice, so that other families may face a smoother path in the future. At the same time, we remain hopeful. Every day, researchers around the world are working towards better treatments, improved quality of life and ultimately a cure for MND. We encourage people to continue supporting their state MND organisations, MND Australia and FightMND through donations, fundraising, advocacy and awareness. MND affects not only the person diagnosed, but also the families, carers and communities around them. Continued support for research and services is vital if we are to create real change and one day live in a world free from this devastating disease.
